S. D. R Umrigar School celebrated 73rd Independence day on Thursday, 15th August, 2019. with great enthusiasm and respect, in the primary school premises.
To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the chief guest Mr. Dotiwala, Managing trustee Shri Navinbhai Umrigar, Principals of English Medium and Gujarati Medium and Principal of Unnati English Academy, unfurled the tri-colour flag and all in unison sung the National Anthem. Mr. Dotiwala addressed the gathering and urged the students to become a better human being and a responsible citizen.
The students of Gujarati medium sung the patriotic song that awakened everyone’s feelings towards our motherland. Madhav Chasmawala of Std. X (Eng. Med. ) shared his views on the significance of the day. The program concluded with the vote of thanks. At the end chocolates were distributed to the students.
Indeed it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.
